Marky Star, DJ Mix, Tokyo

September 18, 2008

Marky Star is back in action Euphoria style with a hot new DJ mix! Listen close as Marky gives us a peak into the underground sounds of Tokyo’s night life. If you find yourself in Shibuya be sure to catch his party Glow Up (Japanese Mixi Link) where you can hear him and other like minded locals represent cutting edge music thats both edgy and sexy.

This is what Marky had to say about this very Euphoria, very unique set…

“This is a mix I did to promote a small bi-monthly I play here in Tokyo called Glow Up.  This set is basically what I played at the second event.  It wasn’t intentional at the time, maybe it was subconscious,  but there is a story in there – quite a personal one at that, but I think a lot of people can relate to it at some point (or points) in their life.  It starts with the end of a serious relationship, it’s angry and defensive and isolated.  Next is going out, going crazy, and escapism thru whatever, booze, reckless sex and being bad in general.   From here the mood lightens up and there’s a lot of ear candy, finally some kind of equilibrium has been reached and  you get comfortable with yourself – love music for music’s sake – objectivity.  Meet new people, flirt, make progress.  In the end the mood is really high, positive – like the excitement after hanging out with someone you like.  In the end, could it be love?

I dunno.  Sounds a little hokey when I think about it too much.  But, if you hear it too, then maybe we’re both crazy.  Anyways, enjoy it by yourself or enjoy it with a friend.  And remember, always cover your mouth when you cough.”

Peace
